GCC Summit, Kuwait
- Location: Kuwait
- Style: Empire Inspired
- Date: 2009
Arthur Brett was commissioned to make this wonderful meeting table for the Emir of Kuwait for GCC Summit meeting recently held at the Bayan Palace. The piece was 6 metres in diameter made in mahogany, with hand-coloured leather inserts, all the trimmings were specially hand cast in brass plated with 24 carat gold and there was additional decoration of marquetry inlays and the obvious ebony contrast.
The centre dome was engraved on glass, with the map of Kuwait. The cabinets under the table were designed to house fridges. One of the many tables Arthur Brett has become famous for manufacturing, for both the GCC Summit in the Gulf and much larger Arab summits.
