2310 - Mahogany entertainment cabinet
2310
The design for this elegant mahogany TV/VCR cabinet is
inspired by an illustration in
The Age of Satinwood from Percy McQuoid,
History
of English Furniture. Originally this piece of furniture was called a 'clothes press'. The
upper cupboard doors feature elaborate inlays of tulipwood in highly figured mahogany panels and
can be concealed when open by sliding back into the carcass of the cabinet, providing an unobscured view
of the television behind. The television is mounted on a moveable rotating slide for comfortable viewing.
The two smaller drawers at the top of the lower section each drop down on hinges to reveal space for VCR/satellite equipment.
